LOST Theories - DarkUFO

Meaningful One-Liners from S5 by RIPYOGI

Some meaningful quotes that I found from season 5 with season 6 implications:

The Variable:

MS. HAWKING: How old is your son?

PENNY: He's 2.

MS. HAWKING: [Sighs] He has his father's hair.

I find it to be funny that the balding Charles Widmore had flowing blond locks back when he was younger. I also find it to be funny that there son is named charlie. The name is probably from Charlie Pace, but I have this feeling that after season 6 we'll see this scene again and realize that Ellie was seeing her husband as a toddler and Charles was seeing his wife as an old lady. Could Widmore be the son of Desmond who share the flowing blond locks? And how could this be possible? Desmond will get back to the island, and he'll have to take his wife and his son with him because he won't leave them again. Your guess is as good as mine from here.

The Incident

GRAY-HAIRED MAN: Mind if I join you?

BLOND MAN: [Shaking his head] Please. Want some fish?

GRAY-HAIRED MAN: Thank you. I just ate.

The MIB and Jacob both have to eat? Strange. They must have some constraints such as starvation. Because they do have to eat, but show up in different time periods showing no aging, I'm starting to think that both are not enslaved by time. They have found a way to escape the natural aging process which possibly means they have released themselves from the prison of time. Could they have shared this secret with Richard? I bet they did, and I bet the only way to keep Richard at bay is to withhold other secrets that only the immortals know.

The Incident:

LOCKE: So you're willing to do whatever I say, no matter what it is?

BEN: Yes.

LOCKE: [grinning] Well, then. I guess I won't have to convince you after all.

Convince? This means that Flocke had no intention of killing Jacob alone all along. This also means that Flocke needed someone else to do it, hence the loophole. I think the reason that the MIB can't kill Jacob is that murder is a sin, and a sin is judged by the island. MIB knows this and must find a person AKA loophole to do it for him. This also means that MIB still must follow the rules of free will which we know Jacob is a firm believer in. The fact that MIB follows the rule of free will demonstrates to me another constraint that is held over their immortal heads. It also reveals that Christian, using his skills of deception like the MIB to persuade others, still follows the rules of free will while not overstepping his bounds.

The Incident

HURLEY: Oh. Then you must be dead.

JACOB: I'm definitely not dead.

Jacob is definitely not dead which means that he is either still alive or has never been alive to actually go through death.

The Incident

JULIET: [Groans] Come on! [Sobbing] Come on! No! Come on! Come on! Come on, you son of a bitch!

[Loud explosion]

[L O S T]

"Loud explosion." The bomb explodes but did it do what Faraday thought that it would do. He said that people were the variables but the bomb doesn't exist in the future island. Does that mean that the bomb is a constant and that it always went off? If yes, this would mean that Jack did something wrong in the process of getting back to LA.

These are from the transcripts posted on Lostpedia. They were small quotes, and they slip past us the first time we watch. I think that the writers have hidden them well.

One last thing:

Has anyone noticed that in the Cabin, during the Incident, Illana finds the cloth with the statue picture on it. The cloth has been staked into the wall with a knife. The knife looks exactly, identical, to the long knife Jacob uses to separate the thread in the begin scene of the same episode. What does this mean? Is Jacob taking the form of Christian?
