The Present Moving to the Past or the Past Moving to the Present? by tst

Ok. So, I've come up with a solution to how WHH can work:
Maybe the island not only travels in time, but time travels on the island.

Let me say this first. The island is the only way in the world to time travel. Everywhere else in the world is the present. So, say that if Horace would have somehow gotten off the island in 1977, he would have walked into the world of 2007. So it is only the island that can change times.

So, with that said, I am going to refer to the book The Time Traveler's Wife. In the book, the time traveler CANNOT change the past. When he time travels back to the past and meets himself, he tries several times to change things, but for some reason just can't. In one scene, he is 15 or so, time travels back to 2 weeks before, tries to warn his younger 15 year old self that something bad is going to happen, but cannot speak, so the bad thing happens anyway. Throughout the whole book, the time traveler seems discouraged and argues that no one has free will. This really doesn't have much to do with this theory, but it is another version of WHH.

So, in Lost, the present is really all that matters. What if, when the losties time travel back to 74-77, they are bringing the past to the present instead of the present to the past.

That would mean that the years 74-77 since the survivors join the DI, that those years in time were duplicated and put into the present on the timeline.

That would almost have to mean that the incident was not caused by them because it happened anyway without them being there.

This would kind of be an alternate timeline theory, but just on the same timeline.

To reiterate what I just said:

One timeline. The beginning of the island. Everything up until 1977. 1977- The (original) incident. 1992- The purge. 2004- 815 crashes. 2004- Losties arrive in 1974. The minute they arrive, 1974 is brought to the present and different things happen because of their arrival (like another incident.)

Ok. That's it. I know I've been writing a lot of theories lately, but as I rewatch the show, more and more things come to me. I wish Season 6 will just get here already.Please lemme know what you think.
