I don't think hurley see's dead people. I tend to lean towards the idea that he has the ability to see into alternate realities, but it seems either way that he has the ability to communicate with the dead.
if jacob knew that he was going die, and truley is trying to counter MIB's loophole, then maybe he needed hurley to come back so he could communicate to hurley. theres also a dead jlocke body on the island as well. hurley will play an important role in season 6.
i also understand why jacob wanted miles on his side, and tried to get him to come to the island with bram and ilana. miles still ended up on the island though, and its possible miles will also play a big role this season. with a dead jlocke and jacob miles would be able to attain a lot of info that the other survivors don't know.
with dead bodies all over the place, people that should be dead that are alive and walking around, and possible alt realties hurley and miles are key players. more of an observation i guess but it was something i thought of and i thought i would share it with you guys!
