What is Christian Shephard's role in all this? by Alex

I don't know if this is as much of a theory as an attempt to get people thinking of this since there really isn't enough evidence to really develop a realistic theory.

If on Ajira flight 316 the Losties had to re-create Oceanic Flight 815 and Locke's body took the place of Christian's body, maybe Christian was going to serve the same purpose that Locke did? For all we know, Christian spent time on the island and was involved with what was going on there. Perhaps Christian's death wasn't a heart attack brought on by drinking and hard living, maybe he was murdered too, like Locke.

Was his body going to be used by MIB?

Was that the reason Christian was stuck in that cabin? Maybe at that point he was possessed by MIB since he had the ash surrounding him.

We still don't know why the ash ring was broken. The producers haven't said that Christian was possessed by MIB, they say he is "undead".

All this got me thinking that maybe that was the reason WHY the Losties left the island, because they would come back and they would bring a different body, being Locke's. Maybe they were set up for that, why did Eloise and Ben want them to go back so bad? Why did they have to re-create flight 815? I don't think they "had" to, I think they were set up.

I believe that Christian will play a larger role in Season 6. For some reason his corpse could not be used as planned. I'm not sure what is going on with him, but I think he has never been possessed/ mimicked by MIB.

Thoughts?
