The Other Smoke Monster by Zarathustra

Lets take a nostalgic trip back to Season 1, Episode 4, "Walkabout"; the first of many great Locke-centric episodes. For the first time since they crashed on the Island, one of the survivors catches a glimpse of the Monster, not only a glimpse, but he stares it down. This was of course, John Locke. The question arises: why was the shot filmed from the Monster's point of view? Many would say that this is because the writer's did not want to reveal what the Monster was in episode 4, they wanted to wait for the Finale. This undoubtedly part of the equation. But an even more intriguing possibility is that there is not one, but two smoke monsters. One of these is the black one, which we have come to know and love, and the other is white. MIB/Flocke/Esau is the Black Smoke Monster (BSM), and Jacbo is the White Smoke Monster (WSM). The BSM is an advocate of fate, and an enemy of humanity. The idea of fate that is so emb! edded in John Locke is evil, propagated by the BSM to bend him to his will. Only because of Locke's delusion that he is destined for something great is he conned into becoming the BSM's pawn. Fate, in the mind of the BSM, sentences humanity into cycles of corruption and death. Jacob, the WSM, is an advocate of free will. The WSM believes that humanity is not running in circles, but is on a straight path that leads to a destination. An important distinction between the actions of the BSM and the WSM is that the former is confrontational, attacking and killing humans, while the WSM is passive; even when faced with his own death, he would rather be killed then compromise his morals, under which he gives humans the freedom to choose. Mark my words, in Season 6 we will see a white smoke monster, and it will be one of the most shocking things on LOST. (By the way, it's not Lost/Found, its Lost/Won).
