Hi, hoping this will stimulate more theories!
I’ve always wondered what happened in the real world after Ajira 316 was lost. Like “The Mysteries of the Universe: DI” I believe that the O6 and others have left enough clues behind for enthusiastic journalists to get their teeth into and perhaps a new “Mysteries of the Universe” program will be created re the O6/Oceanic 815?:
Where they could get the information and what questions would be asked:
- Hurley bought up as many seats as possible (very suss)
- Kate was able to break her ‘probation’ to get on that plane, so they’d be asking how could this be allowed and where is her son now?
- Cassie …seeing an opportunity to make some money – sells her story of what Kate told her
- Claire’s Mum comes forward with her story in an earnest attempt to find her daughter
- Shock and horror and subsequent suspicion of Sun leaving her daughter behind
- Ex Dharma people realise that O6 have been on ‘the island’ and start coming out of the woodwork
- Unreliable or rouge agents or even people that Penelope has employed reveal information
- Hurley’s parents are coerced into confessing what they know
- Juliet’s sister come forward with her story of how her sister disappeared
- Walt is found in the real world (how HAS he remained hidden is a mystery to me!)
- Someone starts adding up how many disappearances there have been in the Fiji-ish Pacific area (Danielle’s team; The Freighter; Henry Gale; Desmond Hume; Black Rock)
- Now released into the public domain, Military archives from the 1950s re the island
- A review of all the O6 statements finds holes in their stories.
This leads to a major investigation and search for the island. The US Military knows about the island and troops are sent to take possession of it. Perhaps this is the coming war (but probably not). However, some outcome could be expected from the above which I believe is a ‘realistic’ (yes I do know this is a fantasy TV show) flow-on after Ajira 316.
