Back in Season 5, the episode was "Lafleour", at the beginning of the episode, Sawyer and the gang get flashed to the past when the Statue was still standing.
The next time we see this statue standing would be the finale. Now, when Locke fixes the wheel the gang flashes to 1974. Miles refers to this final flash as an earthquake because it was so strong. Now could this be why the statue collapsed.
And wouldn't it be pretty cool, if right after the conversation between Jacob and MiB a giant flash happened and it was like an earthquake and the statue collapsed. So when the gang is flashed to the time of the statue it would be the exact same time as the jacob conversation, and Locke is the reason it collapsed.
