I believe it is highly significant that Black Shirt Guy has replicated Loche rather than possessing his actual body and here’s why…
A lot of emphasis has been placed on bodies needing to be buried on the island. I think this is because Alphert knows that BSG can replicate dead people if they are not buried. I also think that on the other hand Jacob can actually inhabit the body itself or at reanimate it, as I believe he did when he touched loche after his window dive and most likely did when he saved young Ben.
Notably Christians body was absent when Jack found the coffin and I think that this is because Jacob had inhabited/reanimated it. I also think that Esau had replicated him and we have been seeing TWO Christians on the island. Presumably the white shoed one being Jacobs. (I believe there was a situation before flight 815 where Jack changed Christians shoes from White sneakers to Black shoes or simply put shoes into the coffin with him? I can’t remember exactly but if the latter is true the actual body of Christian would still be wearing white shoes where as a replication could be wearing black ones?)
Anyway, my theory is that Jacob will now inhabit/reanimate Loches body and we will have a season 6 face off between Team Bad-Loche and Team Good-Loche. The reason I believe this is otherwise, from the writers prospective, what is the point of Loches dead body still being there? Why not just have Esau posses it rather than replicate it? Also why would Ilana lump it all the way to Jacob? Surely they could have just verbally relayed the message that Loche isn’t Loche.
In true LOST fashion I’ve ended with more questions than answers but I’ll be very interested to hear your views on my theory.
Ps. Any views on the metal crate that Loches body was in? it seemed a bit heavy duty. I initially thought that maybe due to altitude pressure or something it was necessary to transport a body in a case like that, but I’m pretty sure Christians boby was in a bog standard coffin. Any ideas???
