So I'm re-watching the opening scenes of the finale that show Jacob and "Steve" on the beach, looking on as the boat (possibly the Black Rock) comes to the Island.
Now after the whole face off segment ("Do you have any idea how much I really want to kill you etc) We get a pan up towards the head of the statue. The statue has an ankh and a dog like head, but if you look at the jaw line and teeth you see it looks more like a crocodile...
This leads me to think the statue is actually Sobek....or Sobek Ra.
Sobek is a crocodile deity from ancient Egyptian lore who was a triple threat....He was associated with strength and power in a positive light and soon became the patron god of the Egyptian army. This was connected to the idea of the tenacity and ferocity of a crocodile..
As well as that he was linked very heavily to the idea of fertility...Sobek was a creator deity who rose from the banks of the Nile...he bore many things in the world to life
Finally Sobek holds an Ankh showing his ability to cure ills and set things to right.. I checked out a little bit about him and came across this tasty little number
"Sobek's ambiguous nature led some Egyptians to believe that he was a repairer of evil that had been done, rather than a force for good in itself, for example, going to Duat to restore damage done to the dead as a result of their form of death. He was also said to call on suitable gods and goddesses required for protecting people in situation, effectively having a more distant role, nudging things along, rather than taking an active part. In this way, he was seen as a more primal god, eventually becoming regarded as an avatar of the primal god Amun, who at that time was considered the chief god. When his identity finally merged, Amun had become merged himself with Ra to become Amun-Ra, so Sobek, as an avatar of Amun-Ra, was known as Sobek-Ra."
Could Jacob survive by combining with Richard Alpert (Ra) a a la Locke 2.0?
The ideas are mind blowing! I think we need to look at this line of thinking much, much more!
I'm a first time poster, so definitely go easy!!!
Big Sy.
