I have just watched the finale and well... wow!!

At the start of the episode we are introduced to Jacob and another character - not named.
They obviously disagree on the nature of people.
They speak of the people not from the island (humans?)
Dark "you are trying to prove me wrong"
Jacob "you are wrong".
Dark "They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt. It always ends the same"
Jacob "It only ends once, anything that happens before then is just progress"
Dark " Do you have any idea how baddly I want to kill you"
Jacob "Yes"
Dark "One of these days sooner or later, Im gonna find a loophole my friend"
Jacob "Well when you do I will be right here"
Dark "Always nice talking to you Jacob"
Jacob "Nice talking to you too"
Cut to our first clear glimpse of the statue...
I have to admit I was expecting to see either anubis or taweret but what we seen was something else, I think.
We get confirmation that the statue is indeed holding two ankhs, one in each hand, there is also an ankh on the back of each sandal.
From Wikipedia...
The ankh was the Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life". Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand. Also represented by a sandal strap, with the loop going around the ankle.
So I figure, like many others that The Statue Represents a God.

The statues head was clearly that of a crocodile.
When I searched for egyptian gods I found, Sobek and Thoth??

From Wikipedia
Sobek - As a creator god, he was occasionally linked with the sun god Ra. He was also shown with an ankh, representing his ability to undo evil and to cure ills. Our statue shows 4 Ankhs.. Hmmm
Egyptians believed that he was a repairer of evil that had been done, rather than a force for good in itself, restoring damage done to the dead as a result of their form of death. He usually adopts a more distant role, nudging things along, rather than taking an active part.
Why did Jacob ask Ilana to bring Johns body??
Thoth - He was considered the heart and tongue of Ra as well as the means by which Ra's will was translated into speech.
He can be represented as the reckoner of times and seasons by a lunar disk sitting in a crescent moon being placed atop his head.

Thoth served as a mediating power, especially between good and evil, making sure neither had a decisive victory over the other. He also served as scribe of the gods, credited with the invention of writing and alphabets (ie. hieroglyphs) themselves.
The episode title "Some like i(T hoth)" and the crescent moon make me sway towards the statue being Thoth or a fusion of Thoth & Sobek.
I think that the Dark Character is also a god who wants to kill Jacob in order to battle a higher power and win a decisive victory??
Also in this episode Jacob is seen creating a weave.
Thoth has played a prominent role in many of the Egyptian myths. Displaying his role as arbitrator, he had overseen the three epic battles between good and evil. All three battles are fundamentally the same and belong to different periods. The first battle took place between Ra and Apep, the second between Heru-Bekhutet and Set, and the third between Horus, the son of Osiris, and Set. In each instance, the former god represented order while the latter represented chaos. If one god was seriously injured, Thoth would heal them to prevent either from overtaking the other.
Thoth became credited by the ancient Egyptians as the inventor of writing, and was also considered to have been the scribe of the underworld. Jacob communicated to Ben through Lists and notes passed on to him through Richard. What is Jacob trying to tell us?? Did he foresee that it was Ben who would kill him or was it his nature to be a scribe? What does his weave mean???

Horus was an ancient Egyptian sky god known as Ra and was pictured in the form of a falcon. The right eye represents a Peregrine Falcon's eye and the markings around it, that includes the "teardrop" marking sometimes found below the eye. The mirror image, or left eye, sometimes represented the moon and the god Thoth.
We have seen this Left eye many times in Lost.
At the top of Jacobs weave we see, again, The Left Eye of Ra but this time it is encased in Wings (Falcon Wings?) Could it be that Jacob was Thoth standing in the way of a battle between Horus (Ra) & some other dark diety??

Ben has stabbed Jacob, Locke 2.0 is Smug but Jacobs played a Gambit and his pieces are coming.. The Game is Set.
Who are the Main Players though? Have we met any other Gods?
Happy Hiatus everyone... Sniff..
I know that this theory explains very little but I hope it is food for thought... Any comments will be much appreciated...
