As many have already stated, I believe Season 6 will be the war between sides. I think there will be more white players than black, but Black has more power due to some supernatural qualities (i.e. Smokie).
Evil Locke/The Man in Black will continue to lead the Black players. New players will arrive on the board (island); thus the comment, "They're coming." I don't think this was referring to Allana--she was already there. No, the Losties and Co. changed the past and are on their way to 2007. I think Widmore, Desmond, and Eloise will also arrive, albeit later in the season.
But who could take Jacob's place? Who will inherit his powers? Who will lead if White wins? Many assume it will be Locke V1.0 revived into Locke V3.0. Maybe. That goes with the Bad Twin idea.
If you doubt the original (good) Locke will be revived, consider this...why would Jacob have bothered reviving him (as I think we witnessed) after his fall out the window? To be Mr. Black's patsy? I doubt it. Jacob had a plan. Good twin is "not quite dead yet."
Think about what Locke has avoided. When he had the opportunity to kill his father--he declined. He allowed Sawyer to kill him, but Locke was not the one who committed the actual murder.
Other candidates?
Hurley hides behind his appearance. He doesn't physically appear to be an obvious choice, but appearances can be deceiving. Hugo is the one truly pure soul--never shot anyone, always look for the good in people. He also received the most attention from Jacob.
Juliet. She made the ultimate sacrifice. She seems like the variable to me.
Or maybe we are looking at it the wrong way. Maybe it will be about redemption as well as making the right choices. Jack may have made mistakes, but he is working towards improving. As is Kate. As is Sawyer. In the end, Ben may even do the same. Maybe its not about one person becoming the new Jacob. Maybe its about the White players defeating the Black through sacrifices and the right decisions. Maybe the winning will inherit the Island and be able to live like Rose and Bernard.
