On-Island Events
?? – Longer ago, the statue, temple, donkey wheel, etc. are built by an ancient culture
?? - Long ago, the statue is in tact, the well has not been dug, and Sawyer leaves the well rope lodged in the ground. Locke leaves the Island via Donkey Wheel. Charlotte’s body left in this time. It is possible the statue was toppled due to the volcano eruption, which Olivia described also as having happened a long time ago. Is the eruption significant?
1845 to 1881 – Black Rock Crashes with Magnus Hanso as its Captain.
40 to 53 – It may be assumed that with Alvar Hanso funding the Dharma Initiative later that during these dates he also supported funding or gave information that allowed the US Military to find the island.
53 to 63 – Jack’s predictions place Adam and Eve has having died between these times, largely before Dharma’s arrival, and well before we know the losties were part of Dharma
54 – The US military discovers the island and begins to implement nuclear tests. A picture taken then provides proof of the island’s existence. Richard meets Locke who asks the former to witness his birth in ’56. Presumably Jughead is buried. Richard appears to be aware of Jacob and the leader of the Hostiles. Widmore is 17. So is Mrs. Hawking.
55 to 60 – A “Clever Fellow” uses the proof of the island to get funding from Alvar Hanso to establish the Dharma Initiative to find the island. The Degroots, Horace, Pierre Chang are among candidates for being the Clever Fellow.
56 – Richard leaves to go witness the birth of Locke
61 - Horace finds baby Ben and was with Olivia.
62 to 64 – Richard leaves again to “test” a young Locke. He seems to disapprove of the results.
62 to 69 – Dharma finds the island and Alvar continues to fund further research. Early Dharma projects are set up and the Island is settled by them. These include building the above ground facilities (Barracks, Sonic Fence, Flame, and the docks.)
70 to 76 – The larger Dharma projects begin (Pearl, Hydra, Tempest, and Looking Glass)
70 - Penny is likely born here, given she is a little over 30 in 2003. Widmore was on the Island, so was Penny born there? Charlotte is likely born around this time as well.
72 - Horace brought an 11 year Ben to the island, is still with Olivia and has short hair. If in fact Olivia and Horace were husband and wife and not brother and sister, Olivia must disappear at this point. It is probable the cabin is built here as Horace seeks solitude away from the Dharma Initiative.
73 - Ben meets Richard in the woods. Interesting that Richard now looks like a bum since his last known sighting in 54’. What happened?
74 - Horace now has long hair, and Olivia is nowhere to be found. It is possible that Olivia's disappearance could be related to the hostiles although perhaps she simply left the island for other reasons. If she is Horace’s sister, she may also be around but yet to be seen. Daniel sees a young Charlotte. Sawyer meets Richard, who is now clean cut again and seems to still be the Hostile’s leader. Richard leaves again to invite a high school Locke to Midelos Bioscience Academy. Did he do this because Sawyer had said he was waiting for Locke, thereby reinforcing for Richard that Locke was indeed special even though he may have failed the previous “test”?
75 to 76 – Pierre Chang father’s a son. Who is it? (Miles?)
77 – The Orchid begins construction with Daniels help. Radzinsky is shown finishing plans for the Swan at this time as well. It is unlikely construction for the Orchid began before this time as no significant events related to it occurred during the 3 years Sawyer and co. have been a part of Dharma. Ben has been around the losties for 3 years at this point, long enough to recognize them. Horace and Amy give birth to Ethan. This is the only known baby to be conceived and born on the island, if in fact Amy never left. Dharma losties reunite with Kate, Jack & Hurley. Ben is taken by Richard to “mystically” heal from gunshot wounds in the temple after which Richard says he’ll never be the same. Widmore and Hawking are on the island in a leadership role, but Richard says he doesn’t answer to them.
77 to 92 – We are completely unsure of the circumstances surrounding these years, but it seems clear that during this time Ben’s relationship with Richard expands, Ben meets Jacob, and at some point even as late as 2000, Jacob is imprisoned in the cabin, though likely earlier than that. The “Incident” very likely takes place around ’78 just after the building of the Swan and certainly before ’80. The Dharma losties have either moved in time again to the past or present at the start of this period, or live through this entire period, possibly witnessing Widmore’s removal or even dying in the purge.
84 to 92 - Widmore leaves the island. If he lead the Hostiles for 30 years and took over in 54 then 84 is the soonest he left and certainly 92 during the purge would have been the latest.
88 - Rousseau's team arrives. They are changed after entering the temple and she kills them, which Jin Witnesses. Ben has not yet committed the Purge but somehow claims her baby Alex.
92 - The Purge, Ben seems to claim leadership of the Hostiles who takeover all previous Dharma facilities
01 to 04 – Daniel tells Desmond to visit his mother Ms. Hawking
01 – Desmond crashes and is brought to the Swan. Juliet brought to the island. Yemi Crashes. Ethan first meets Locke at Yemi’s plane site.
