Ok so its getting kinda easier to see where the Lost story is taking us. We have already seen Jack, while trying to fix a future event (evil ben), indirectly cause it.
I think that the writers are now setting us up for the losties to try to either stop the swan from being built, or destroy it altogether.
Hurley discovering Dharma building the hatch, and then saying the line "they are building the station that made our plane crash" (or something to that effect)
I think that the losties will CAUSE the incident by trying to keep it from happening. (the incident I think will be part explosion, part bright light, and part Chang and CO seeing the losties dissapear right in front of their eyes. This can be caused by an explosion near the "electromagnetic force" Chang warned us about on the phone. Or by someone turning the wheel who wasnt supposed to.
But regardless, I think the story of Jack not wanting to save little Ben will parallel this upcoming arc to the tee.
