So what I'm thinking is for the season 5 finale, or close to, Faraday is gonna try to blow the wall open to get to the FDW chamber.Remember in the season opener the dharma workers were having an awful lot of trouble trying to breach the chamber using tools.Faraday was also there and carrying something. This is a scene that will be returned to for the finale. What Faraday doesn't know (or maybe he does?)is that jughead is also very close to the FDW...as it was put down the well.Remember after the last time shift when Sawyer tried to jump in the well? The well was there but it was sealed.Alpert had to bury the bomb so maybe the others just put it down a deep hole that was already there....the well! Now let's assume the statue was still mostly there around the late 70's. A huge boom like jughead would probably cause the ground to tremble and ripple, and the statue was close enough to feel it and crumble. And of course ! the FDW chamber will be breached. To fix this breach would take an awful lot of concrete, wouldn't it?The one flaw i can think of with this theory is the proximity of the swan station to the orchid. And here's one more theory regarding why children CONCIEVED on the island is such a problem with their being born.
The purge.I assume Amy concieved on the island. But lo and behold she gave birth and all were fine. That's because it was before the purge.Let's assume the gas released over a good portion of the island. Then it dissipated. What effect would it have on the vegetation? There you have your cause for the fatality rate of those who concieve on the island!
One last comment on the jughead theory.I read on a spoiler a year or 2 back about Faraday dealing with something seismic under the surface.Anyone else recall that one? Most people assumed it has something to do with a volcano.I think that little hint kinda ties in nicely to my theory.Whatcha think?
