I know this is long but it is coded so that it makes an easier read. I am looking forward to all your thoughts!
1. Ben acts as Alex's foster dad
2. Chalie acts as Aaron's foster dad
3. Widmore says he was 17 in 1954 and was not a leader on the island then. Yet he continued to rise and eventually became a leader, retaining that position for 30 years.
For a long while and possibly after the incident women can't give birth while on the island.
According to the Dr. Marvin Candle Swan tape ,the incident must have occurred before 1980.
Penny is in her thirties, so born in the 70s.
So, Widmore may very well be Penny's not biological but here foster dad, since he was on the island when she was conceived and when she was born, even though it seems very unlikely that her mother would be able to have gone through with the whole pregnancy while on the island round the incident time.
4. Ji Yeon was born off the island and even now that both her parents are on the island, she is not with her dad.
5. Assuming that Miles is Dr. Marvin Candle's son, we may see him as a baby but we don't know that he has been born there. Moreover, taking into consideration that Miles's body reacts as if he has been on the island before but he has no recollection of such a thing, it could be that he was sent away at a very young age, so his biological father didn't raise him either.
What do the above mean?
Men who nurture and bring up children who are not their biological kids is a theme on the island.
So, here's my theory: Sawyer is another guy down that line of foster dads.
Just as Locke is being prepared his whole life to believe in himself and become a spiritual leader on the island, i think that Sawyer is being prepared his whole life to purge himself from a parentless childhood and become a father on the island.
Here's why:
1. Without planning it, he already is a dad to Clementine. He acts nonchalant but in truth he cares for her from afar, financially(deposing the money for her) and sentimentally(asking Kate to see her).
2. Baby Aaron would only settle in Sawyer's arms. Not in Claire's, not in Charlie's, not in anyone else's.
3. When Claire goes missing, Sawyer is the first person who comes across baby Aaron and helps him.
4. During the first flashback that the losties get in familiar times, Sawyer is the one who witnesses Aaron's birth.
5. At heart, he's always remained a boy, carrying around the letter written towards the man who brought his family down. Once he comes face-to-face with the real Sawyer, the man who was the cause of his family loss, he kills him and becomes a man. James is ready to move on and do right where other men did wrong(Locke's dad who confesses to James how he was a bad father, Jack's dad who had confessed to James how he was a bad father).
But to whose kid will James be a foster dad?Alas, tragic fate...To Kate and Jack's!
Here's my reasoning:
According to Eloise Hawking the 316 flight should be a copycat of the 815 flight in terms of passengers and all.
1. Sayid in handcuffs(316) stands for Kate in handcuffs(815)
2. Hurley carrying a guitar stands for Charlie
3. Dead Locke in a coffin stands for dead Christian in a coffin
4. Last-minute Ben stands for last-minute Hurley
5. Sun being aboard for her husband's sake stands for Rose being aboard for her husband's sake
6. Jack is Jack enough said. Hero on his journey then and now only this time he knows better 'cause this man of science is starting to believe.
So who is Kate?
Kate had hot sex with Jack the night before.
We're missing a pregnant woman to take Claire's part.
That's Kate. Carrying Jack's kid.
But Jack is the hero of this show, with him it began and with him it will probably end(his eye closing?). He's going to the island as a man with newfound faith and he will surely need to prove that through sacrificial acts. That's not a family man in the making.
On the other hand, Kate and James, both ex cons with a burning desire to do something good for a change, they were a couple when the Lapidus helicopter left the island. Time to rekindle the romance and raise a baby too!Theory by Beth
