I was thinking about the whole idea of Locke being Christian's Proxy. The most obvious similarities are they are 2 dead guys on a plane. Then it hit me, There was another dead person who crash landed on the Island: Yemi.
Yemi went to his death trying to salvage a relationship with his brother Eko.
Christian drank himself to death after trying to salvage his relationship with Claire, and remorseful over his relationship with Jack.
Locke would have committed suicide (he was stopped only to be killed anyways) after realizing he had no relationships in the 'real world.'
Yemi and Christian have both contacted family after their demise from both on and off the island. Yemi In a sense even Locke had contact with his family after his 'death', because according to Anthony Cooper, his 'dead' son had kidnapped him an chained him up at the black rock.
Yemi's body disappeared (between "23rd Psalm" and "Cost of Living") and Christian's body had disappeared by "White Rabbit".
Yemi's Gold Cross became a treasured artifact of Eko's, Similar to how Christian's Gold Watch was passed on to Jack.
Eko's work as a priest and Jack's work as a Spinal Surgeon can both be attributed directly to Yemi and Christian.
