This is my first theory so it might sound stupid, but it makes sense to me.
When flight 316 crashed the oceanic 6 had to remake the crash as much as they could. Well what if the same thing happened on flight 815. A group of people get to the island by plane years before 815 crashes. they live on the island for a number of months before finding there way off the island. They get back to the real world and everything is great until one of there friends comes and sees them, but he didnt make it off the island. He says they have to go back nobody want to untill something happens. They go see Mrs.Hawking. She is in Austraila she tells them that they have to go back on oceanic flight 815 and they need to recreat the crash as much as possible. I think the people that the others have taken were the people who were on the island before and are protecting them form nosebleedsickness.
I think this has happened many time in the past i think the first person to do this was Jacob. He was captian of the black rock when it crashed he much like lock had something wrong with him like blindness and when he got there he could see. Many of his people left and he had to go get him. I think that once you sacrifice youself to get back you are ageless like richard alpert I think that he has done this before as well and Locke will live on the island from now on and appear ageless as well.
