I believe that Daniel Faraday's mother is Ms Hawkings (the white haired lady). When Daniel and Desmond met at the backdoor of the Hatch, Daniel told Desmond that he needed to locate his mother at Oxford, her name is ??? Well, in Lost, we all know that almost everything connects in some way or another. Well, when Desmond was sort of a monk, his monk leader and friend (don't remember the guys name) had a picture of him and Ms Hawkings on his desk. It was a picture of them in the courtyard of Oxford. This is a very popular place, considering Daniel has worked there; Charlie has been there with his brother and there's a picture of the mysterious Ms. Hawkings and the Monk there.
Daniel is a strange and mysterious character, just like Ms. Hawkings. Wouldn't it only make sense if she turned out to be his mother. Otherwise, how would Desmond know who to ask for or find at Oxford...unless....he recognized her! Oh, and is it just an accident that Ms. Hawkings just showed up at the end of the second episode "The Lie"?
