You must start by reading "Above Black and the Grey Projects parallel", a few theories before this one -- (probably same page as this)
Highdicesugar commented;
"It makes me think about what kind of front the other hatches could be."
Well, that got the synapses sparking. So, I replied;
Your ponderings suddenly struck me like a lightening bolt. Behind the Swan Hatch was the BOX! What if the box, or more likely what was in it, was an ancient artifact just like the wheel. Consider the equally dramatic effect Desmond had when he opened the box to Ben's turning of the wheel.
From there it snowballed...
WhamBamTHankYouMaam! Could this be the ultimate answer to the "incidents"? Again, consider the intensity of these discoveries. What if the "Incidents" were the findings of other artifacts of equal intensities BEHIND the other hatches that were destroyed or abridged? Do you see it? Ben's wheel and Desmond's box were just 2 more in a series of incidents.
Consider the Pearl Hatch's repository area of vacuum tubes. They were all piled up in the middle of nowhere. Sure, at first I thought they were part of some Dharma psychological study. Now, I am contemplating that these were other Hatches that were destroyed, revealing another artifact. But, which artifact, you say? The "Magic Box?" Ben's disclosed method for drawing Locke's father to the island.
But, the Black Light door revealed, I think, more than one previous Incident. There was also, I seem to recall, a hatch that was scratched out(destroyed) on that wall.
Talk about your snowball effects...
Please leave comments, for good or for better. I'd love to hear your thinking.
