A friend sent me the following link this morning. He didn't realize he was sending something that I think might be intrinsically "Lost" related. It's a flash animation regarding the first chapter of a new book called "Imagining the Tenth Dimension." It describes it's dimension, from the first to the 10th, and is very fascinating.
Most fascinating to us, as "Lost" fans, is the description of the 5th and 6th dimensions, which describe, quantum physically, how our timelines can split via our observations and choices (5th) and how, if we can access the 6th dimension, we can "fold" our way to other outcomes in our life. Maybe a famous inventor in one (or, perhaps in Jack's case, a timeline in which his father is alive and he's the drunkard).
Also interesting, if just for observation's sake, is the 8th dimension, in which infinities split to other infinities. And why I've never noticed that the number 8 on it's side represents infinity, I don't know. That seemed pretty relevant, given all the time theories out there.
Finally, consider the 10th dimension, which is all possibilities of all infinities, how it relates to the 1st dimension, merely a point where all dimensions leap from -- and then think of our Island, as representative of that "point" in time, from which all possibilities can leap.
Anyway, during our long hiatus, this particular primer on dimensions was curiously relevant to "Lost" -- at least for those of us who are involved in time travel and multiple universe theories.
Here's the link!
