Hi there, I have theory about lost, and i'll try and get right to the point. I believe the Island is part of an underground civilization. There is a book "The Smoky God" by a man named Willis George Emerson, in his book he says the character Olaf Jansen explains how Jansen's sloop sailed through an entrance to the Earth's interior at the North Pole. This main part caught my attention. In the season 2 finale, there was a scene at the end where a plane is flying over what appears to be the North Pole. The men on the plane saying somthing along the lines of "We think we've found him", obviously referring to Desmond, who is being looked for by his ex, Penny. Anyways, according this Smokey God book which is a theory on Agartha (a legendary underground city that resides in the Earth's core. The supposed inhabitants of this place are said to be immortal, unless killed. This brings me to my next point. There is a man who is part of the "Other's", and his name is Richard. He is a frequent character in season 3 and his character caught my attention. In the episode with the flashback of Ben's life, it shows Ben as a little boy running into the forest away from the Dharma Initiative. In the forest, who does he happen to meet? Richard. Now, if memory serves, Richard is also alive in the present version of the Island, with Ben as an adult. Richard doesn't seem to have aged at all. So maybe, just maybe, he is really an original mamber of the Island, and is indeed immortal.
