K - here's my little bite to chew on. I thought about the flash forward with Jack and Kate. I couldn't help but ponder it. Flash forward - seems odd. What could this little wrench , this kink in the fabric mean ? What's this all about?
Is it a dream that Jacks concocted? A nightmarish vision of the future? Another slip in time ? Then it occurred to me... and most often this is the trait of many novels and books, sometimes movies will use this as well. You watch this whole story, you get all the back story, watch the characters past and his history and everything that happened to him and then after you get the history you move on to the plot or the meat of the story. The real subject at hand - The Present.
So, perhaps what we've seen these three seasons are not these crash survivors as they are in the present, but what they were in the past. Perhaps the story of the crash and each individuals life and then getting to know the others and all the events of the island were the back story to the story. Perhaps we've been watching flashbacks the entire time. And now, we see not a flash forward from the present, but we look away from the past and to the present.
Now we get to the story. In order to understand the story ahead, we had to understand the past.
In case I'm not clear ...we've just seen Jack and Kate in the present after we've witnessed their past.
I also believe the Michael is in the coffin. It makes more sense because Ben would have never left his precious island, it would seem to appear as though Jack and Kate made it and the rest didn't so the only one who got off before hand was Walt and Michael and I think probably after what Michael did, Walt might not feel so great about his dear old dad.
