Seems like every person and their dog is having a shot at this so I figured I may as well...
Sorry if someone has submitted this before..
The four toed statue
ITS SOMEONE WE KNOW
I don't believe the statue is simply an Egyptian God or any other known God...Lost is renowned for its curve balls and there is no way they would finally reveal the face of the statue only for it to be Horus or Anubis...they have been building it up for too long to do so. First showing us the foot, then more recently the back. Think about it, if the statue ends up with a the face of Anubis you'd sort of feel a bit hard done by...'really all that build up up, for that?'. Where as if it was Richard or Locke that would be a cool moment in an already event filled series.
HOW A LOSTIE BECOMES A GOD
Time Flashes. Put yourself in this position. You're in ancient times, you pray for the gods to give you rain, good crops etc. One day this person in clothes you've never seen before, materializes in front of you. This person then performs some kind of act (be it great or not) before disappearing into thin air again....if I was a peon I'd be crapping my pants and making a giant statue quick smart, less this god decides to come back and smite my village. There have already been several time flashes and I would not be suprised to see several more...
MORE TIME FLASHES?
Widmore said that he was exiled...my guess (I'm sure he mentioned this but I can't reacall) he was tricked into turning the donkey wheel. Thats why he knew where Ben and Locke would turn up (because thats where he ended up). Ever since then he's set up cameras waiting for someone to spawn there so he may capture whoever it is and question them about where the island is. So if this is true that means the island will skip in time at least once more (sometime in the 80's) giving a lostie a chance to be a god.
The time flashes we've seen I doubt have been that far back...we've seen the statue but nothing before it was made...which makes me think (if this theory is at all correct) that we have yet to see the flash that led to this event (unless Rose and Bernard are the gods, adam and eve and jacob as well ;) )
RANDOM THEORY
Thought I'd tack it on....Jin and Ben. There is something there. I can't remeber Jin and Ben really being in a scene together. I checked Lostpedia and they said that Jin has met Ben, but I can't recall when and if so how meaningful it was.
Ben's face when Locke mentioned that he was alive is what started me on this theory. I don't think it was simply a matter of 'I can use him to get Sun' because I think he could mangage that on his own. I think he may have had a memory recall like Desmond and Charlotte have already had.
Jin is in Dharma time, as is young Ben. Old Ben has brought Sun back to the Island, something that Jin did not want (especially when you leave your kid behind).
SCENARIO: Sun is killed. Jin kills Ben, becaue Ben is the one that brings Sun to the Island.
Why did Ben twitch when Locke mentioned that Jin was alive. Because young Ben watches himself die ( like a Gilliam film I won't mention by name). He doesn't know it at the time but all of a sudden it clicks in....or maybe its a memory that has been suddenly planted into his memory (like Farady and Desmond).
Like I said this may have been said before or flawed...but I need to put it in writing so I can sleep at night. Let us know what you think..
