Everyone seems to be very curious about the new storytelling format for the next season of Lost and I think we are finally going to do some real time traveling! According to all of the suggestions since Comic-Con the next season will not feature Flashbacks, or Flash forwards... so how will they do it? This is how...
When Ben moved the island, John Locke, Richard Alpert and the Others went somewhere in the future... lets call this "Time-line A"(2010)...
...At the same time Daniel Faraday, in his 6 man zodiac raft, is warped back to the 70's... in the early days of Dharma. "Time-line B" (1978)...
...and we all know what happened with the Oceanic 6... that is... up until 2008, "Time-line C".
Now where will everyone be after all this confusing time travel business?
Time-line A (2010?)= John Locke, Richard Alpert, Sawyer, Juliet, Charlotte, Miles, and the Others
Time-line B (1978)= Daniel Faraday, Pierre Chang, (Jennifer and her baby?) Jin(hopefully), Most likely a young Danielle Rousseau and her team
Time-line C (2008)= Jack, John Locke, Ben, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Sayid, Frank Lapidus, Aaron, and Walt.
This should get very interesting with certain characters because theoretically if they are old enough to be alive before 1978, they can appear in the show at different times in the their life. Take for instance Charles Widmore... we may see him and Sun working together to find the island in 2008 but how cool would it be to see a young Widmore on the island in 1978 at the same time!?
Im so excited to see how they do it... I cant wait...

Generally agree, but I think the surprise "twist" will be that Timeline A (where the Island moved to) and Timeline C (the Oceanic 6 off Island) are happening in parallel or very close together. When the O6 eventually return, it's going to be as if they were only gone for a few days rather than years.
oh please.. not again
Another multiple timeline theory, we have enough of parallel universes, different dimensions, 2 or more realities and now multiple timelines???? at once??
I'm not gonna read it even if someone pay me two thousand dollars..
LOST producers have already said many times there are JUST one timeline
Is enough... check the Dharma video again, you'll see that Pierre Cheng knows about George Bush back in the seventies, that means we all going to see just one story.. just one time line
Love-Over:
It's actually not a multiple timeline theory in the sense you're thinking of. It's more somebody's theory on the structure of Season 5 now that we've been told it won't be "Flashbacks & Flashforwards" by the producers.
TPTB also said there was no time travel involved in the show... but look where we are now!
Your theory is interesting to read.
I disagree that Danielle would be on the island in 1978 seeing as she only got there in 1988...unless she lied.
@Jake of all trades
My apologies... I liked your theory in fact, I read it and makes sense... but reading "multiple timeline" isn't to hard to relate it with parallel dimensions and stuff... which is senseless according to Darlton.
@nicole... I know you love Locke...
anyway... TPTB didn't exactly rejected time travel, but the possibility of changing the past/future...
One thing is time traveling and a complete different one is parallel worlds and dimensions and Multiple timelines which this theory is not about... it is and will be just one timeline forever....
But I must agree.. Darlton said that we will see Danielle R. story not in a flashback, but in something else.. something else suggest without hesitation that we will see 1986 an so on like present day... and that is F* amazing....
Watching again TMBTC with the Dharma background was really awesome...

If we accept this theory, we should also consider the idea that the Hydra island was moved to 1978 along with Daniel (and possibly Jin). It was indicated in the season finale that the second island disappeared from the present, but most of us assumed that it moved to the same period as the main island. If Daniel did not share the same fate as his fellow islanders, why would the Hydra island - which I would imagine was even farther away - be a different case? Technically, this should not necessarily mean that the Hydra island ended up whenever Daniel did, but I doubt the writers would go to the trouble of treating the time shift as a function of the exact distance from the Frozen Donkey Wheel.
If this were to happen, the Hydra island would show up in 1978 as though from nowhere. Its entire existence would be constrained to a time loop. The Dharma station would, in fact, not be built by Dharma at all - but rather handed out to them as-is. It could be that Pierre Chang was alerted to the time travel phenomenon when he witnessed the emergence of the second island, and so when he met Daniel, he was inclined to believe his story.
The runway built by the Others (as well as by Kate and Sawyer) would have to be demolished by Dharma at some point, so as to create a reason for the Others to build it in the first place. Everything else could theoretically remain unchanged over the 26-year period, since we have no evidence of other landmarks built by the Others.
The Looking Glass station also comes to mind, but it seemed to have been destroyed in the season 3 finale. Dharma probably did build (or rather re-build) it some time after 1978, and might not have been aware that it was moved in time similarly to the Hydra. It would probably not even be addressed due to that.
I've considered that Daniel was warped in time with Hydra Island and could be in a different time than the other island. If in fact he isn't in the same time period as the rest of island or other survivors (and original inhabitants) than this would make the most sense to me as he obviously is no longer still sitting in the middle of the ocean.
I'm still not completely convinced by this video that that they're not all together and that they didn't all go 30 years back in time. I need more proof.
I think producers are trying to keep us confused when they say things about fate and destiny...Think back to season 3 when Desmond met Ms. Hawking... she told him "You can not change the past... fate has a way of course correcting"... Thats what she says, but I believe that the episode the Constant proves Hawking wrong. Desmond changed the past, he used his "sickness" to get Penny's phone number, changing his fate... Seems a little similar to Chang's warning message
Sorry dude nice idea but...it is inconsistent with:
a) the promos...in which Locke seems to be held at gunpoint, and the part where he is screaming alone where the Others camp used to be. Also Daniel has scenes with Charlotte in the promo so timelines cannot separate them this season!
b) producers said this will not be like Heroes, and multiple timelines sounds like a cheap shot that would only make the story more convulted and remember lost is a narrative first.
How this theory got 4 stars is beyond me...no offense man. If people want to see Daniel in 78 and charlotte in 2010...then they just have to look at the promos to be disappointed.
