Lost was finally and only Oceanic 815 vs. Ajira 316, spiritual vs. religious.
MiB/Ajira represented religion. Ajira 316 was John 316. Alpert represented the Pope, and like Peter, he denied Jacob three times, and was clearly infected on the Black Rock.
Once Alpert saw the light, he knew to blow up the Anti Jacob Ajira plane.
The Oceanic water bottle was perfect for drinking the water from the source, and other unambiguous heavenly references to Oceanic.
Religion was portrayed as an evil infection. The Goddess Ma'at was pictured inside Jacob's statue, and Oceanic was natural spirituality, Mother Nature, etc.
