LOST Theories - DarkUFO

First let me start of with my feelings towards a “reset”. I have to admit that I will be a little disappointed in this storyline, only because I feel that if we have a reset and Flight 815 lands in LA we have to deal with the whole “do they remember everything? crap” and then regardless of that, we then have to wait for them to “go back”… didn’t we just have this plot in season 5? My only hope is that they do have their memories and that if there is a reset, there will be some quick way (like within the first 5 episodes) to sync these timelines up… whether it is through Jacob or a flash or another flight back.

Second, I think that it might be a good idea to play “writer” for a minute. Now I know everyone will say “But we’re not writers… how could we know what they would do?”. I for one think most avid “LOST” fans could outline an episode of “LOST” rather well and some of the theories I have read on here proves that many people could actually write for “LOST”. What would be the best idea for storyline purposes but still have a “WTF” moment for fans during the first few scenes of the season premiere? I leave this question up to someone with more capable writing skills to tackle this one, but if I had to guess, I would say that it will “appear” to be a reset and we will see the aftermath of the bomb exploding on the island aka “ another purple sky” and our 815’ers will disappear from 1977 because they are now in LAX. Notice that I say “appear” to be…only because I don’t think it would be that simple.

But this is where I have a problem with a reset for storyline purposes. OK so Jack and all the 1977’ers are back in LAX (not sure about Rose and Bernard cuz they looked pretty happy where they were, plus they weren’t touched by Jacob). Everyone who flashes back to LAX has been touched by Jacob (Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sawyer and Jin). But what about the people in 2007? How would a reset affect them? Jacob touched Locke and Sun so would they flash to LAX as well? A reset would mean Locke is alive… so if he is alive can Flocke still be using his body for his evil doings? You have to keep Locke in 2007 with Richard, Ben and co. for there to be a storyline there. The only silver-lining to a reset would be that John Locke would be alive… he would be in a wheelchair but he would be alive! Also, I am all for a Sun-Jin reunion but this is not what I had anticipated. It would be strange…that scene in the airport where she looks over and sees him and hugs him! and cries. I visualized it happening on the beach, much like their reunion in “Collison” where I was crying… a lot. I just don’t see how a reset would work with both groups, unless for some reason the people in 2007 DON’T FLASH TO LAX. But why would that happen? Why does anything happen the way it does on “LOST”?

The producers said that they don’t like paradoxes. I for one am TOTALLY confused about what constitutes a paradox or “alternate timelines, resets, parallel timelines etc”. It makes my head hurt. Is there any way to have a little “WHH” and a little change?

My final thought is a prediction if you will. “LOST” premiered on Sept 22, 2004 when the plane crashed on the island. My thought is that when all is said and done and timelines are corrected or the mission is accomplished or the island has exploded, the date of “whatever will happen” on “LOST” will be the same like the day of the crash. So I think that somewhere towards the end of the series finale it will say on the screen May___, 2010.
