I posted a theory the other day on what I think happened after the Incident and how season six would start off regarding the WHH v. ALT theories that we all have been speculating for some time now. Before I continue with this new theory about the final season I want everyone to know my credentials regarding my research.
I have watched LOST from the pilot and have done a total of 3 re-watches this year alone, one pre-season 5 and two post-season 5. With that in mind, I also want you to know that I have read a number of books on the LOST book club list including The Dark Tower III, A Brief History in Time, The Chronicles of Narnia, Catch-22, Bad Twin, Our Mutual Friend, The Odyssey, The Shape of Things To Come, Of Mice and Men, A Wrinkle in Time, A Tale of Two Cities and Everything That Rises Must Converge.
This is more of speculation theory so bare with me and enjoy …
I believe we all have been thinking wrong about the WHH v. ALT theory. I think we all think of the ALT theory as a completely different turn of events (ex: plane lands in LAX, etc.) I don’t agree with that, I believe what Faraday had said, and I believe both sides of the arguments:
Apparently the first time it was brought up was from Faraday in the beginning of season five when he stated that “Whatever Happened, Happened” and we cannot change anything and that it won’t work even if we tried. Yet Faraday comes back at the end of season five stating to Jack that “I was so caught up on the constants, I forgot about the variables, humans”
This is not a continuation of my theory from the other day but I would like to guess a few things that coincide with it. The other day I stated that I felt that the season will begin with our Losties landing in LAX airport and they never crashed on the island. I still believe this will happen, but I stated the other day that it doesn’t mean the ALT theory wins, I feel that it is going to be like “Flashes before your eyes” when Desmond, after turning the fail safe key and wakes up in the real world and in some way, SUBCONSIOUSLY, doesn’t remember what just happened and goes about his day. Throughout the episodes things begin to come together that remind him of the Island and then he believes he is seeing the future and once he realizes what will happen next, he wakes up in the implosion area of the Swan and is back on the island.
I believe that our Losties will wake up on the plane but landing in LAX and go about their lives however events will take place that make them all realize they were on an island and boom, they’re going to wake up. In my previous theory I stated that there were comatose for about 30 years and will wake up in the temple in 2007 just as Jacob tells Flocke that “There coming”
The point of this theory however is that I’m starting to believe that what Jack did worked, that this is the loophole that Jacob may have been looking for. The answer he has been looking for. Let me explain …
Since the middle of season five when Ajira Flight 316 lands on the island we all have said at one point, WTF!? Why does it look different? What’s up with barracks? Why is Danielle’s distress call still playing, etc.
My point is that maybe MIB wasn’t the only one who found his loophole, Jacob stated everything that happens before the end is just progress, what if the Incident was the progress.
This goes back to Faraday’s speculation regarding that we are the variables and even though WHH, we can still change the future, not completely change, but lets use the term “Whatever Happened, WILL Happen”.
What if by Jack blowing up the swan never really happened to begin with, I really don’t know how the Dharma would have stopped it before but what if this is the reason the future we see now in 2007/2008 is different. What if what Richard meant by he saw them all die was because in the recent loops he saw them all die, don’t forget, Timeline wise Richard told Sun that they all died in the season finale before the actual bomb blew up, which most likely was happening exactly 30 years in sync with the 1977 Losties timeline. Juliet didn’t blow up the bomb to the end of the episode, meaning what if that changed the future.
The producers really do everything on purpose and just say the date was September 16, 1977 at 11:00 A.M., they made it in sync with September 16, 2007 at 11:00 A.M., meaning if the bomb blew up that if could of altered the future, not changed it completely.
This theory is a little out there but I like that if brings the WHH v. ALT theory sort of all-in-one. I think that the producers really wanted to stress Faraday’s variable idea because it truly is a remarkable theory and makes an extreme sense. Think of the Desmond flashes regarding Charlie dying, it still happened, but he postponed it, who says he couldn’t postpone it for 30 years. It is possible; it is possibly to find the loophole. Not just for the MIB.
BTW I just thought I would throw in another speculation which I found creepy and awesome at the same time. I finished Everything That Rises Must Converge the other day, which was the book that Jacob was reading outside the building Locke got thrown out of. It was a very interest book of short stories however I focused on the self titled chapter and found the central idea very mysterious. I found this online, check it out:
Everything That Rises Must Converges central idea is aiming to expose the sinful nature of humanity that often goes unrecognized in the modern, secular world:
What do you guys think, do you think that is Jacobs’s true nature or he was reading it ironically next to the falling John Lock who soon becomes Flocke? Let me know.
Please rate and comment, especially you Monika!!! LOL
