What the heck is going on?
This is my first theory, but i am open to crticisms and your opinions.
From the beginning lost has appeared to be about the 108s lost an island where unexplainable things happen. We have seen the characters experience polar bears, different dharma stations the numbers and time travel. All the 108s were lost, whether by paths they have chosen to take or by the very essence of them being on the island.
Correct me if im wrong but I have never heard a theory about the other meaning of lost, as in I have lost a game?!? There have been a list of references to games throughout lost from backgammon to risk to Ben saying that Widmore has changed the rules. I theorise that this is what the show is trying to get at.
If we combined this with the theories of the time loop, the end of humanity/the world and Faradays involvement I believe it is nodding at the idea that this has happened time and time again with the same result, reaching the end, failing and ultimately lossing the game, meaning the characters have lost the end game.
what do you think?
