Lost is about Parallel Universes and altenate realities, nothing more.
A set of characters take a flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles California.
In the first Parallel Universe, the plane encounters the same turbulence (as in the previous stated paragraph), but in this Universe the plane crashes and there are survivors. They crash on the "lost island" where the rules of time and space are in constant flux. The character interact, some fall in love, some die, and some do leave the island and return to a normal Universe.

Warning in advance: A discussion of Walt cannot be had without addressing the epilogue, so if you have not seen the epilogue please do not read.
I am sure some of the Lost Community, either in an effort to fill the gap in their television lives, or just because it is an awesome show, have begun watching Fringe, whether it was at its inception or only just recently. I am halfway through Season 1 personally, and one of the episodes, Episode 105, entitled "Power Hungry", had me thinking about Lost all over again, and in particular, Walt.

Prob my last LOST theory ever.....nah! it's just been a bit of a long time....
Back in season 1 and 2 when Claire was kidnapped and taken to the "medical hatch",she lost her memory and was very "foggy" with recalling everything that went down. Yes, we clearly see Ethan make sure that Claire kept drinking from the canteen with the "Water' in it(I'm sure it was some type of roofies in there)...but....after watching LOST: the complete series box set! THAT I OWN(YEAH)!!!!....Room 23 is clearly explained to us(and it was a good enough answer for me), and it made me think about Claire.....

There are a few lingering questions pertaining to the FlashSideways Timline (FST) that I think have been overlooked, or simply not answered. The most imporant of these questions for my understanding of the show is:
How did the Losties create the FST?

If you were anything like me you were wholly disappointed with the supernatural quasi-religious ending of LOST. Essentially, it was a cop out. However, I reject fan’s supernatural interpretation of this ending; instead, I will offer an argument against the supernatural ending and advocate a more logical interpretation while still maintaining a poetic harmony.

Lost Explanation 3.0
Life is but a dream
Everyone has dreams that are symbolic. We wake from them unsure what we just dreamed about or why we dreamed about them, but they did have a connection to us on a fundamental level even though we didn't realize it. That is sort of what the core setting of Lost is based around, it is meant to skew the line between what is real and isn't real; and show us. Everything in Lost is meant to be debated as either real or not real; because it meant to show the duality of existence and how only the meaning you take from something is important.
