LOST Theories - DarkUFO

notes for the end of lost by close to the truth

ok, like everyone else i have been rewatching the series. here is is 6:15 and the repeat show starts in an hour and I've just finished watching the final three episodes of Season 5. And for some reason stuff is occurring to me that hasn't semeed so clear before. Here are my notes:

Jacob's visits
- Jacob is doing DIFFERENT things to each person when he intervenes in their lives. It was wrong to try to see his effects as uniformly directed toward "candidates."
- In particular, it is implied that Jacob BRINGS LOCKE BACK TO LIFE, apparently a special power that appears only to occur this one time in the show
- which would make Jacob's and others comments about resurrection interesting throughout the show;
- This would dovetail with recent theories about Locke having been inhabited by Jacob in some way on the island when they first woke up after the initial crash

Jacob's plan
- when we see Jacob first he is weaving a complicated tapestry. This is the first thing he comments on when FLocke and Ben go in to see him. That could relate to the note above--that he has taken action in the "real world" to deal with MIB/FLocke's loophole
- this implies that Jacob has a larger plan we haven't altogether seen yet

Smokey
- in some way, everything that is happening is being dreamed/imagined, and/or is layered over what we are calling "the incident," the noises of which sound an awful lot like a plane crashing.
- I am still reflecting on Rose saying that Smokey sounded familiar
- note that Juliet is getting pulled down with chains; metal is bending and groaning; smoke is pouring in a column downwards

Daniel
- Daniel sobbing at the crashed Oceanic 815 seems important still. I think most of them actually did die in the crash, in 'reality,' 'the way things were supposed to be'
- Daniel and Desmond are the only ones with any access to this, along with Eloise & Charles

Predictions:
- we are not finished with "the incident," the original "plane crash," or with the "failsafe" that was triggered when Desmond forgot to push the button. In some way, they are all the same thing.
- Lost ENDS. Jack WINS. MIB is DEFEATED.
- This entails Sacrifice. The LIGHT will STILL NEED TO BE PROTECTED. The ISLAND WILL NOT HAVE BEEN DESTROYED.
- Jack will sacrifice himself, his life with Kate, and more to remain "like" Jacob
- but MIB will have been KILLED. there will no longer be a smoke monster at all.
- Jack will still need to protect THE LIGHT from human beings mis-using it.

We welcome relevant, respectful comments.
