LOST Theories - DarkUFO

OK, so i was doing some research on wikipedia after reading a theory on here about the significance of Fire & Water concerning Jacob and MIB.... CHECK THIS OUT!!!

In Arabic, a genie (also jinn, Djinn, from Arabic جني jinnī) is a supernatural creature which occupies a parallel world to that of mankind, and together with humans and angels makes up the three sentient creations of God (Allah). According to the Qur'an, there are two creations that have free will: humans and jinns (djinns). We do not know much details about them, however the Qur'an mentions that jinns are made of 'smokeless fire' and they form communities just like humans and just like humans, they can be good or evil.[1]

The Jinn are mentioned frequently in the Qur'an, and there is a Surah entitled Al-Jinn. While Christian tradition suggests that Lucifer was an angel that rebelled against God's orders, Islam maintains that Iblis was a Djinn who had been granted special privilege to live amongst angels prior to his rebellion. [2] After the rebellion, he has been granted a respite to lead humans astray until the Day of Judgment. However, Iblis has no power to mislead true believers in God.

That would be for both of them, now here are two seperate incarnations of djinns, one for Jacob -

Ifrit, are supernatural creatures in Arabic and Islamic cultures. They are in a class of infernal djinn, spirits below the level of angels, noted for their strength and cunning. An ifrit is an enormous winged creature of fire, either male or female, who lives underground and frequents ruins.According to some, Ifrits live in a society structured along ancient Arab tribal lines, complete with kings, tribes, and clans. Ifrits generally marry one another, but they can also marry humans. While ordinary weapons and forces have no power over them, they are susceptible to magic, which humans can use to kill them or to capture and enslave them. As with the jinn, an ifrit may be either a believer or an unbeliever, good or evil, but he is most often depicted as a wicked and ruthless being.

And one for MIB -

A Marid, in common mythology, is a jinn associated with open waters of the seas and oceans where it finds sanctuary. Marids are often described as the most powerful type of jinn, having especially great powers. They are the most arrogant and proud as well. Like every jinn, they have free will yet could be compelled to perform chores. They also have the ability to grant wishes to mortals, but that usually requires battle, and according to some sources imprisonment, rituals, or just a great deal of flattery.

I really was struck by the similarity in contrasts to these mythological beings and LOST, and thought I should make more people aware. 1st time poster!!!
