LOST Theories - DarkUFO

What I mean is there has to be a third force on the Island, in addition to Jacob and MIB. And this third force serves as an arbiter of their eternal struggle, who ensures that neither wins and neither destroys the other. A balance between their obviously conflicting agendas must be kept in order to prevent chaos in the Island universe (or maybe even a wider space, like the Earth or even the universe). Now that this balance is off (after the death of Jacob), it's time for the third force to emerge and take measures in order to restore the balance.

I think that while Jacob is associated with white, and MIB with black, red is the color for that third force. We have seen many instance of black and white on the show. This is a striking dichotomy, but kind of self-evident. The appearance of red has been more rare and sometimes more subtle.

Now, who do I think could be the third force? I believe it would be kind of late in the game to introduce a completely new character, so it would be logical to look among the current stock of characters. I noticed that the person who has been quite often associated with the red color is none other than our beloved and departed Mr. John Locke. He drove a red car in his FBs. When Richard visited him in his childhood, the backgammon pieces on his table were not black and white, but red and white. He and Boone talked about redshirts, and after Boone carried injured Boone to the caves, his own shirt became red when soaked with Boone's blood. Generally, what any other character was injured and bled (covered in blood = red) more often than Locke? No one. Another instance: the omnipresence of red in the flower shop scene between Locke and Cooper. One more: the flight of red stairs at the rehabilitation center where Locke met Abaddon for the first time. Those are just examples off th! e top of my head.

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but who else could be more fitting to tell MIB to behave himself, if not the guy whose image MIB has taken? I doubt that Locke would be happy to know that some dark entity has been using his image for some unknown purpose. Another reason why I think Locke will be that third force is the Last Supper promo pic. I will not describe it lest it could be considered a spoiler, but there is highly doubtful that Terry O'Quinn would have been given the position he was given in that poster, if he was still playing MIB (well, since there are 3 versions of the Last Supper promos it could be argued that at least in one of them TOQ represents the real Locke). I am sure the words of Emily Locke addressed to John: "You're part of a design" (and maybe even "You were immaculately conceived") will prove to be the exact truth, although at the time they sounded like a rambling utterance of a mentally What I mean is there has to be a third force on the Islan! d, in addition to Jacob and MIB.
