O.k. so, if you notice the show has been starting to explain( or at least touch on) a lot of the major show mysteries starting with season 4. Season 4 focused on beginning the end of the show( oceanic six escape, must go back to the island= main premise of the second half of the series) by way of sordof continuing everything that happened with season 3( Charlie writing "NOT PENNYS BOAT" on his hand, then the evil freighter people etc) so seasons 3 and 4 were connected. THEN, season 5 started answering a shit load of quesitons specifically about DHARMA, and DHARMA was pretty much what all of season 2 was about(they are now explaining the button, the hatch etc.)SO seasons 2 and 5 are connected.
Now....the one MAJOR mystery they have completely ignored is the wierd stuff w/the others that happened in season 1. Mainly, the bizarre "lists" of people to kidnap/not kidnap that was supposedly ordered by Jacob. Keep in mind...we STILL have no fucking idea WHO the others really are or what they want or anything....this is on purpose so all can come together in season 6( compelting my theory that each season has a 'sister' season, i strongly believe seasons 1 and 6 will be related....the head writers already confirmed that the major time travel storyline ends at the end of this season and season 6 will be more about the characters again).
Ok...on to my major theory: somehow, at the end of season 5 immediately following "The Incident", jack and company will succesfully PREVENT the crash of oceanic 815. BUT, this will result in jack, kate, jin, and sawyer(at least these 4) joining the others and becoming the real "leaders"...and they will be with the others for the next 30 years....until they then catch up with the time of Locke, Ben and sun etc. The huge twist is gonna be that THEY are the leaders of the others and THEY wrote the mysterious lsits of peopel to kidnap/not kidnap because they KNEW everything was going to happen(they kidnapped those two kids from the other part of the plane cuz they knew all the other peeps were gonna die...). So.....people may counter this theory with a "oh yeah, well why havent we SEEN jack, kate, or sawyer with the others before if they have been with them all along??" Keep in mind we still have never seen the temple. I believe the new others/ main characters were purposefully ! kept AWAY from anyone they might come into contact with that would screw up what is supposed to happen(for instance, if old jack ran into new jack...shit would get fucked up). SO in conslusion, jack and co. are the leaders of the others and wrote the lists and planned the kidnappings from season 1...
